StarTech.com is currently looking for a Packaging Engineer to join our Distribution team in London, Ontario.

Reporting to the Global Director of Distribution, the Packaging Engineer makes an impact by supporting the branding standard of StarTech.com through the packaging component of all product lines and Operational Packaging components. The Packaging Engineer will support the packaging strategy through the management of the packaging SKU master list and be responsible for the BOM management of all packaging related requirements. This is a highly collaborative and cross functional position across the organization as well as with all local vendors and governmental agencies.

 

What You Will Gain

  • Experience supporting the packaging strategy through the management of a SKU master list and responsibility for the BOM management of all packaging related requirements including all corrugate, bag, label and other applications in the packaging program up to and including label support and dunnage.
  • The opportunity to support the Packaging Expense metrics at each facility including Direct and Indirect supplies ensuring all packaging related programs are socially responsible and support a safe and efficient work environment.
  • The ability to work with stakeholders across the organization to identify improvements to product quality elements and support the implementation of system solutions or process changes that will be used by the Product Quality Department to deliver enhanced data used by multiple departments.

 

What You Can Show Us

  • 5-7 years’ experience within a Distribution, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Packaging Manufacturing related role
  • Undergraduate degree in Packaging, Business Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or related field
  • Lean/ Six Sigma/ CIP Certifications are highly preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of packaging components, material compatibility and technologies related to development, testing and implementation of new product packaging and delivery systems
  • Experience with material handling equipment, sustainable packaging solutions and Supplier programs to support just in time replenishment
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills - ability to work in a matrix organization and effectively lead without direct positional authority
  • Adept written and verbal communication skills including the ability to write clear, concise technical documentation
