Job Description
Rotholme Family Shelter of Mission Services of London has an opening for the position of Housing Shelter Diversion Worker. This is a contract position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To assist families in diverting them from an emergency shelter stat via a direct referral system. To develop and maintain an effective relationships and working partnerships with property owners, property owners and/or property management.

Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary Education/Training in Human/Social Services
- Experience in a social service position, preferable an emergency shelter
- Knowledge and ability to work with women, men, families, and children in crisis
- A high level of communication skills including disputes resolution practices
- Understanding and knowledge of the City of London, residential area, housing providers and area real estate
- Experience working with private market housing partner
- Knowledge of the Landlord Tennant Board and residential tenancy Act
- Ability to provide participant advocacy with other system elements and proactive participant planning.
- Comfortable with computer programs and efficient documentation of statistical data.
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently as staff of a Christian based social service agency
- Strong interpersonal skills
