Grand Erie District School Board represents more than 27,000 students in 58 elementary schools and 14 secondary schools within the City of Brantford and the counties of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk, as well as students from Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. With a dedicated staff of more than 2,900, Grand Erie is committed to learning, leading and inspiring. The Education Centre is located in Brantford. The Board is currently seeking a full-time Millwright to join our team.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform general locksmith procedures which include: • Installing, repairing, rebuilding, and servicing mechanical, electrical, or computerized locking devices
  • Emergency services concerning jammed locks and repair or replace worn tumblers, springs, and other parts
  • Cut new or duplicate keys
  • Replace hinges and re-align doors
  • Disassemble door locks & padlocks
  • Install, service, and repair automatic door operators
  • Install, service, and repair hollow metal and wooden doors
  • Required to be available for a call-back outside of regular working hours for emergency situations.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • overtime and use of a personal vehicle may be required

Qualifications:
  • Certificate of apprenticeship as a Locksmith or TCPL designation
  • Experience working as a locksmith
  • Valid Secondary School Graduation diploma
  • Must possess a valid Ontario G class driver’s license
  • Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Must have above-average technical/mechanical skills
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills
  • Must be willing to attend trainings and enjoy learning new skills and technologies
  • Must be trustworthy and dependable
  • Must have great attention to detail
     
Job Specifications
Hours of Work Full-time 40 hours per week, 12 months per year
Rate of Pay $28.02/hour. A very competitive benefit package is available.
