With a history dating back to the 1930s, today we have production sites in Germany, Italy, South Africa, India, China, Brazil, Argentina, Canada and the USA.

Our automotive manufacturing facility in St. Thomas, Ontario is currently recruiting for a Product/Process Engineer. Details of the position are outlined below.

Role Purpose:         Responsible for conducting engineered continuous improvement activities throughout the manufacturing processes.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Drives improvements through recognized problem solving techniques
  • Identifies process variables and develops processing conditions to control them in order to meet the above
  • Refines processes with a clear understanding of modern lean manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement
  • Supports the continuous improvement plan and initiatives
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications and education required: 
 
  • College Engineering Diploma or higher education with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a Powder Metal Engineering Department.  Must be experienced working with engineers and technicians on development of new jobs for production.
 
Soft Skills and Other Competencies:

 
  • Knowledge of AIAG core tools PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, etc.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and blue print interpretation
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment – listens effectively and challenges others
  • Demonstrated leadership and team building skills
  • Must be able to train, develop, and coach employees
  • Ability to work independently, schedule and complete tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive and take initiative including performance of duties and exercising independent judgement
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to change
  • Ability to work directly with management in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong problem solving and project management skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of Quality management systems ISO/TS-16949
