Our automotive manufacturing facility in St. Thomas, Ontario is currently recruiting for a Product/Process Engineer. Details of the position are outlined below.
Role Purpose: Responsible for conducting engineered continuous improvement activities throughout the manufacturing processes.

Role Purpose: Responsible for conducting engineered continuous improvement activities throughout the manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drives improvements through recognized problem solving techniques
- Identifies process variables and develops processing conditions to control them in order to meet the above
- Refines processes with a clear understanding of modern lean manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement
- Supports the continuous improvement plan and initiatives
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
- College Engineering Diploma or higher education with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a Powder Metal Engineering Department. Must be experienced working with engineers and technicians on development of new jobs for production.
Soft Skills and Other Competencies:
- Knowledge of AIAG core tools PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, etc.
- Knowledge of GD&T and blue print interpretation
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment – listens effectively and challenges others
- Demonstrated leadership and team building skills
- Must be able to train, develop, and coach employees
- Ability to work independently, schedule and complete tasks with minimum supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive and take initiative including performance of duties and exercising independent judgement
- Must be flexible and able to adapt to change
- Ability to work directly with management in a fast paced environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong problem solving and project management skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of Quality management systems ISO/TS-16949
