Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Financial Analyst in the Insurance Industry, in Waterloo, Ontario.
You will be work with a team of individuals who are responsible for supporting the administration, accounting, reporting and control requirements of the North American portfolio in the new SAP General Ledger under IFRS 9. This role will be a leadership role and consulting of technical basis for accounting principles.
Location: Waterloo, ON
Pay Rate:
T4: $53.16-$54.45/hour
INC: $63.29-$66.44/hour
Estimated Contract Length: 2021-11-01 to 2023-01-31

A typical day:
- Responsible for the execution of the dual reporting requirements by completing monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
- Support the determination of opening balance sheet amounts for IFRS 9 and input transition adjustments into SAP
- Build manual tracking and restatement process
- Interact and communicate with various stakeholders in the implementation of new accounting processes
- Responsible for documenting new business processes
- Responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of reports
- Acts as a senior resource and/or providing guidance for solving operational issues
- Liaises with key partners such as Corporate, Portfolio Management, external counter parties and Front Office
The successful candidate brings:
- Designation in accounting/finance ( MBA or CPA)
- 5-7 Years of experience in related field (Investment accounting, preferably within the insurance industry)
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- IFRS knowledge/experience
- Software knowledge in Oracle and SAP
- Experience working with large data sets and presenting to management.
- Knowledge and experience with report writing tools.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet tight reporting deadlines on deliverables.
Total rewards:
- Weekly pay including 4% vacation pay
