INTERMEDIATE  APPLICATIONS DEVELOPER
 
My client located near London, ON is searching for an INTERMEDIATE APPLICATIONS DEVELOPER to join their rapidly growing team.
 
With 20 years’ experience in the development of automation systems my client offers a secure growth oriented environment.  This opportunity will appeal to an Engineering professional who enjoys working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment with key members of the organization from Sales, Customer Relations, Systems and Engineering.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Work with systems engineers to generate unique concepts to provide cutting edge automation solutions
  • Review and analyze customer documents, requests for quotes, customer facility and equipment, product designs, and past history of equipment to ensure concept is optimized and effective
  • Provide technically effective and commercially considered automation solutions, as directed by the Customer Relations Manager  
  • Coordinate with management to properly prioritize quotes required
  • Attend at customer location to acquire deeper understanding of project scope and specifications and provide technical information regarding potential concepts
  • Evaluate quoted concepts and scope to verify feasibility and functionality
  • Create and develop quote templates to improve quoting accuracy and consistency
  • Identify quoting inefficiencies and work with team to find solutions in order to maximize output
  • Continuous research of new technologies to ensure the customers are provided with the best possible concept
  • Occasional travel to customer locations
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • University Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 5 years’ experience in automation including knowledge of costing, commercial industry and sales
  • Microsoft Office, DraftSight, Epicor, Solidworks, AutoCAD
  • Ability to decipher mechanical design drawings and create 2D drawings
  • Understanding of General Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T)
  • Strong team player, detail oriented, critical thinking & problem solving skills
