Job Description

Reporting to the Vice President, Neighbourhood Developments, this position will provide assistance to the Neighbourhood Developments team in the co-ordination and completion of construction, construction administration and development of land, conducting regular inspections of construction sites.

Responsibilities Include:

• Schedule regular site visits, maintain records and act as liaison between the various outside consultants, builders and the company with any required installation of municipal services, modifications to approved plans, grade plans, ensuring maintenance of grounds and any remedial work.
• Obtain monthly sales reports from each builder client for each project under development. Track and record the housing starts by Sifton and other builders.
• Assist in the quotations, installation, coordination, maintenance and warranty of subdivision gateway plantings and other landscape works.
• Obtain zoning details, conditional and full building permits, and other City Hall documents when required
• Record and maintain all records of plans required as a result of land work. 
• Review and implement construction contracts, including scheduling, payment and liaising with the contractor, engineer and Project Manager.


Experience & Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 or 3 year Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology and/or Planning Technology at an accredited Community College. 
• 3-5 years’ experience in related Civil Engineering roles and responsibilities.
• Ability to design site and engineering drawings using AutoCAD software.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, knowledge of project planning software an asset
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast past-paced environment. Self-directed and willing to work in a team environment 
• Good interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work in safety sensitive construction zones, around large machinery and heavy equipment as required.
• Must be willing to work with a detailed and flexible approach to work assignments and locations. Reliable transportation and a valid Ontario driver’s license in good standing.
