Job Description

The Corporate Reliability and Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of production equipment, plant facilities and mechanical assets with specific reference to fixes, replacement and installation of new machinery as well as preventative maintenance on existing assets. They will be responsible for all corporate reliability and maintenance functions at all Solis Foods Corporation Facilities including St. Mary’s, Brantford and Calgary. Other duties may include budgeting for and raising capital cases for consideration by senior management.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Equipment / Maintenance
• Responsible for overseeing the maintenance of all mechanical /plant assets
• Responsible for maintaining preventative maintenance schedules for equipment/assets

Supervisory
• Interviews and hires maintenance employees
• Responsible for supervising, training, coaching, developing and communicating daily with employees
• Responsible for performance management of direct reports
• Ensures productivity goals are achieved

Communication
• Contacts and interacts with Solis customers, suppliers and internal company stakeholders on a regular basis

Inventory
• Responsible for maintaining and monitoring parts inventories
• Manages and maintains key maintenance inventory

Financial
• Participates in annual budgeting process for the future purchase of assets and mechanical items
• Participates in ongoing purchasing decisions regarding foodservice production equipment
• Responsible for raising capital cases when required to facilitate senior management decision making
• Responsible for maintaining cost analysis vs. benefit programs

Regulations
• Ensures adherence to quality and company standards including:
• Health & Safety programs
• Legislative requirements
• HACCP
• CFIA requirements
• Responsible for reporting and addressing food safety issues.

Education and/or Experience:

• Ideally completion of post secondary education (P. Eng or equivalent) and at least 3 years experience in a maintenance leadership role
Or
• A certified millwright with at least 5-10 years equivalent experience in a maintenance/engineering leadership role, preferably in a food manufacturing environment

Qualifications:

• Experience servicing and maintaining equipment
• Ability to provide Leadership to Skilled Trades
• Ability to promote a TEAM environment
• Ability to perform Root Cause and FMEA analysis
• Excellent oral & written communication skills combined with strong organizational skills
• Flexible - Able to work well under pressure
• Previous supervisory or management leadership experience
• Ability to lead & motivate
• Familiarity with HACCP
• Financial and Administration experience
• Ability to develop, create and/or maintain maintenance SOP’s
• Valid First Aid Certificate
• Valid class forklift licence
