Summary of Duties:

The Child Care Fee Subsidy Pilot Intern will support the implementation of the fee subsidy pilot through research, community engagement and operational implementation.

Work Performed:

  • Input data on fee subsidy eligibility into a secure platform for use by child care operators.
  • Research various models of supporting low income families to access public services.
  • Identify policy strategies and resources required of various models.
  • Prepare presentations regarding findings in accessible formats.
  • Provide presentations to community partners, internal staff and child care operators.
  • Facilitate discussions with community partners.
  • Map existing programs and services to support low income families.

Qualifications:

Eligibility under the City of London International Student Graduate Internship Program as follows (see below): 

MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: 

  • Have been an international student that has graduated within the last year from a recognized post-secondary educational institution in Canada, and
  • Currently hold valid Post-Graduate Work Permit to be legally entitled to work in Canada, and
  • Have an English language benchmark of level 6 or above.

Experience:

  • Research and knowledge translation;
  • Communication and facilitation skills;
  • Clear writing and use of visuals to convey information;
  • Understanding of community development principles;
  • Understanding of equity and access to public services.

Compensation & Other Information:

Hourly rate: $23.11/hr.

This posting is for a temporary position being filled on a full-time basis for up to 20 weeks. 

Standard hours of Work: Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Work Arrangement: On site.

These hours of work and work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with business requirements.
