Veterinary Purchasing Co. Ltd. (VP) located in St. Marys, Ontario, the largest Veterinary supplies distributor in Ontario is currently looking to add a dynamic individual to our VP team for in the position of:

Human Resources Administrator

Reporting to the Human Resources and Safety Compliance Manager, this individual will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of the HR Department including, but not limited to human resources, payroll, benefits, and health and safety. The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, be highly motivated, organized, and able to work under pressure.

Essential Duties of the Position:
    • Work with the HR department to source candidates as required
    • Attend job fairs as a representative of VP, as needed
    • Screen applicants, conduct reference checks, and hire candidates
    • Ensure all documentation is complete and systems updated in a timely manner
    • Conduct new hire orientation and train employees on Health and Safety, WHMIS, Pedestrian Safety, AODA, Violence and Harassment, and the company HRIS
    • Assist with the development and maintenance of training programs within the HR department
    • Input and track accident / incident information
    • Assist with the employee database, ensuring accuracy and data integrity
    • Generate ad-hoc reports as required
    • Act as first point of support for system issues and queries regarding our HRIS and Company policies
    • Gather, verify, and submit employee working hours through our payroll system
    • Process and maintain all vacation / leave requests
    • Additional projects and duties as assigned by the HR & Safety Compliance Manager



Job Specifications:
Education:
  • A College Diploma in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or similar
  • Advanced knowledge of Provincial Employment Standards, Health & Safety, and Human Rights legislation
  • Intermediate MS Office Skills
  • Experience with BambooHR, MitreFinch Time and Attendance, and/or Desjardins Payroll is considered an asset
  • Excellent Communication skills and attention to detail
Experience:
  • 0-2 years’ experience in a similar role
