Summary of Duties:

Reporting to the Manager, Housing Services, assists with the on-going administration of housing programs, policies and strategies.

Work Performed:

  • Assists with proposals or requests for municipal funding through capital and operating funds or other housing funding sources.
  • Maintains accurate records for the administration of Housing Programs including forgivable loan agreements and revolving loan funds, verification of tenant incomes annually and verification of unit rents annually for housing programs.
  • Assists in working with community partner in housing and related support services proposals and solutions.
  • Assists with the on-site inspection of housing programs and review of program eligibility.
  • Maintains inventory and updates lists of surplus city owned, federal and provincial land and buildings for possible housing development.
  • Maintains contact list of people and organizations interested, or involved in, housing services.
  • Researches housing issues.
  • Organises workshops, seminars, roundtable discussions and educational forums and information sessions regarding housing services.
  • Develops information on housing in various formats such as power point, photography, e­mail, video, news releases, brochures, etc., including updates to housing website.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

University Degree or College Diploma in Business Administration or Human Services or related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience.
  • Experience in any one or more of the following is an asset: community development; administration of affordable housing; planning; strategic policy & planning; real estate.

Specialized Training & Licenses:

  • Demonstrated applied knowledge and proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage tasks within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent commnication and presentation skills.
  • Famiarity with legislative requiremets and by-laws pertaining to land managment, housing and construction.
  • Valid Class G Driver's License.

Compensation & Other Information:

$49,450 - $69,530 (Level 9)

This posting is for 1 permanent full-time position.

Current hours of Work: Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Work Arrangement: Hybrid. Subject to change in accordance with business requirements.

These hours of work are subject to change in accordance with the Collective Agreement and may include evening hours and Saturdays.
