Summary of Duties:

Reporting to the Manager of Plans Examination and working with the Plans Examination and Building Inspection teams, the student will be responsible for:

 

Work Performed:

  • Assisting Manager of Plans Examination to keep permit statistics up-to-date
  • Assisting in the review of plans for building permits with Plans Examiners
  • Shadowing building inspectors at various stages of construction
  • May be involved in preparation of AutoCad details
  • Maintaining technical documentation library files
  • Assisting in responding to inquiries from customers
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Some experience with residential construction
  • Understanding of the Ontario Building Code is preferred
  • Computer knowledge (Microsoft Excel and Word) and AutoCad experience
  • Enrolled in Architectural Technology Program returning to full-time academic studies in January 2027 and/or require this placement to graduate.

Compensation & Other Information:

$23.11/per hour.

Position is a full-time temporary contract from September- December 2026.

Position is arranged to be in-person.
