Software Engineer
 
Job Purpose

1. Develop software and/or integrate enterprise applications that meet user’s requirements, ensuring the most appropriate languages or technologies are used for any given project.
2. Maintain existing software applications/systems and optimize performance as outlined by user specifications.
3. Respond within 3 business days to problems that arise with the user community and/or software systems. 

Specific Responsibilities

• Creating, maintaining and implementing user software requirements by analyzing, developing, and testing modules according to developed standards.
• Assisting in the collection and documentation of user’s requirements.
• Analyzing system and software requirements, producing functional specifications and documenting detailed design specifications.
• Developing existing systems by analyzing, identifying, correcting software defects, testing, debugging and documenting technical problems, processes and solutions according to specified procedures.
• Maintaining technical knowledge by attending courses as required, reading technical journals and researching and learning new software and programming languages.
• Consulting clients/colleagues concerning maintenance and performance of software systems.
• Managing multiple projects/work orders and ensures completion in an accurate and timely manner according to customer and company requirements.
• Demonstrating and instructing trainers on how to use new functionality in existing software applications/systems.
• Answering users’ questions about application functionality or data in a timely and efficient manner.
• Responds to support requests from the user community in a timely fashion.

Qualifications
Education and Experience

• University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science with 2 years relevant work experience.
• Experience in object orientated application development in an n-tier environment to pass or receive application related data from a relational database.  
• Experience designing and building relational databases with normalization and writing database stored procedures.   
• Experience gathering, analyzing and documenting user requirements for use in application development.
• Experience designing and building web applications using responsive web designs for business and enterprise solutions
• Experience designing, developing and utilizing web services
• At a minimum, skills should include in-depth knowledge and proficiency in the following:
• C#.NET                      
• ASP.NET/MVC                   
• SQL Scripting (Store Procedures)
• HTML5
• CSS3 (Cascading Style Sheets)
• Java script/JQuery
• AJAX / ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX
• XML
• Microsoft Enterprise Library (Data Access Block and Logging Block)
• Web Services (REST/SOAP) using WCF and Web API
• Telerik controls

Additional Requirements

• Working Knowledge of operations systems/servers, i.e. Windows, Unix, NT.

• Internet/Intranet experience using Internet Explorer, Security, Web Design, etc.

• Ability to effectively operate computer, software, and peripheral equipment, i.e. Windows 2000, MS Office Outlook, MS Project.
