Job Description
On behalf of our client in London, ON, we are recruiting for a Corporate Legal Assistant/Law Clerk on a full time basis.
Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):
- Prepare, draft, edit and finalize all transactional documents
- Prepare annual resolutions and compile record books
- Complete online filings with the applicable Ministries
- Prepare draft corporate loan documents such as resolutions, certificates of incumbency and officer certificates
- Prepare redemptions, purchase and sale of shares, dividends and annual resolutions
- Coordinating new incorporations, amalgamations, amendments and continuance documents
- Conduct and summarize PPSA searches and registrations
- Prepare and draft Wills and Powers of Attorney
- Real estate transactions (residential and commercial)
- Receipt and review of new file assignments
- Organization of files; tracking and meeting deadlines, inputting information into file database
- Answer and direct file specific inquiries
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Handle administrative details with respect to accounting, docketing, billing, etc.
Key Qualifications:
- Completion of post-secondary education as a law clerk or legal assistant
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Corporate Legal Assistant/Law Clerk
- Excellent computer skills;
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Professional attitude with the ability to communicate effectively
Compensation: $45-60,000 annually depending on experience
