Part-time Technician – Theatre Programs (ARD 201700007)
School of Design
Faculty of Arts, Media and Design
Location: London
Employment Group: Support
Hours: Up to 24 hours per week – Schedule varies – some evening and/or weekend work supporting performances.
Pay Details: $17.79 per hour
Closing Date: Open Until Filled
Note: This is a part-time position (up to 24 hours per week). This is an ongoing 10 month position from August to June.
Duties: Reporting to the Chair, School of Design, and with day-to-day direction from the Program Coordinator, the part-time Technician - Theatre Programs supports teaching and learning activities for theatre programs at the Fanshawe College Centre for Digital and Performance Arts in downtown London.
QUALIFICATIONS
The position requires excellent communication, organizational, operational and theatre skills.

Required Education and Experience:
- Post-secondary 2 year diploma or degree in Theatre
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in field
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Demonstrated familiarity, experience, and contacts with the theatre profession
- Classroom and theatre resources set-up
- Prepares for classroom activities and productions
- Arranges/creates props, stage management, sets, and painting
- Arranges field trips
- Order materials and printing to support student activities
- Marketing/Graphics/Events support
- Familiarity with software programs to support items above (Excel and Word required)
- Some Graphics experience
- Driver's license
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Experience working with groups of people
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to have a flexible schedule according to program needs
