The Facilitator is a caring, credible, energetic professional who is a key member of the Learning and Development team.  As a part of Human Resources, Learning & Development Services offers organizational development initiatives for staff and leaders in support of Western's strategic plan.

The Facilitator contributes knowledge, skill, and guidance in the planning and delivery of a diverse range of organizational development initiatives. The Facilitator designs and delivers small and large group learning opportunities and facilitated group interventions to support workplace culture change, enhance leadership practice, and increase team and organizational effectiveness. The Facilitator leads staff and leader learning opportunities, team planning sessions and process improvement initiatives. The Facilitator offers consultation to leaders to improve team performance, achieve team outcomes, and constructively address work challenges. The Facilitator leads or participates in the improvement and design of talent management practices and systems (e.g. performance feedback systems, role design).

Education:
-   Masters degree in Human Resources, Organizational Behaviour, Business, Adult Education, or a related field
-   Certification and experience using organizational development instruments such as personality or team assessments, 360 degree tools, and engagement surveys would be an asset
-   Certification in areas such as adult education, facilitation, coaching, instructional design, and on-line learning would be an asset

Experience:
-   Minimum 2 years in a role with learning and group facilitation as major accountabilities
-   Experience within a large, unionized, academic or broader public sector environment preferred

Skills & Expertise:
-   High-energy, client-focused professional with a passion for helping teams and leaders succeed
-   Strong presentation skills, large and small group facilitation skills, strong ability to  provide feedback and coaching to others
-   Strong client consultation and assessment skills and the ability to design and deliver effective learning and team interventions
-   Demonstrated ability to effectively apply knowledge of group engagement methods, team dynamics, adult learning, and change management
-   Demonstrated ability and openness to learn and expand own skill set
-   Exceptional relationship building and influencing skills
-   Exceptional emotional intelligence, awareness of others, maturity, and sound judgment, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills
-   A strong record of teamwork, collaboration, and flexibility with the ability to work independently
-   Strong project leadership and process improvement skills
-   Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
-   Intermediate skills in MS Office Suite
