The Administrative Coordinator provides leadership in the management of Finance & Human Resources support and services to implement initiatives for the Schulich School of Dentistry department.  In collaboration with their leader, the incumbent will be responsible for administration, providing assistance with development and implementation of budget policies, and financial reconciliation.  This includes accounts receivables, billings, payroll, purchase orders, travel expenses, account reconciliations, journal entries, collections, as well as inventory of supplies and capital equipment maintenance.

The Administrative Coordinator provides financial management analysis and direction for the effective use of fiscal resources, including funds received from grants and donations.  The incumbent will also assist in the development and implementation of financial and human resources processes, and is accountable for ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.  The Administrative Coordinator will oversee staff and student recruitment, appointments, and reappointments at the department level.

Education:
-   University degree in Business Management Administration
-   Enrolled or completed CIM, CHRP, or a professional accounting designation (CMA, CGA)

Experience:
-   3 years' progressive administration experience (Human Resources, Financial, Administrative)
-   3 years' experience in an academic or health care setting
-   3 years' experience in a unionized environment
-   Database experience (PeopleSoft Financials and Human Resources)

Skills & Expertise:
-   Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (with advanced skills in Word and Excel)
-   Ability to coach and support staff effectively
-   Strong cognitive skills and financial analysis with a proven ability to build, implement and manage business plans
-   Exceptional organizational skills, including managing multiple competing priorities
-   Influential interpersonal skills that build strong, collegial relationships with students, staff and faculty members
-   Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to complete detailed analytics and reports with an ability to present information and materials to different audiences
-   Results oriented to assess and scope areas for improvement and an ability to offer creative solutions
-   Solid understanding of key financial principles coupled with experience managing a revenue generating department
-   Strong client focus and a desire to achieve results in a professional and timely manner
-   Ability to analyze and synthesize sizable amounts of detail/data
-   Ability to establish effective routines for excellent communication with all members of the team to maximize productivity
-   Strong record of teamwork with the ability to work independently, in strict confidentiality, often under pressure and deadlines, with frequent interruptions
