Summary:
Role:
Reporting to the Manager or designate, the Dundas Place Operations Assistant is responsible for supporting the maintenance and cleanliness of Dundas Place including Dundas Place Office, public washrooms and event and activation set ups.
Job Responsibilities
- Set-up of equipment for events including but not limited to tables, chairs, audio visual equipment.
- Control access to facility and monitor participants and spectators.
- Take down and store all City equipment.
- Act as a liaison with customer in providing information on facility and services.
- Cleaning of areas of the building to include washrooms, hallways, shared rooms, and other areas as required.
- Ensure walkways and entrance ways are clear of obstructions.
- Assist event organizer by providing access to electrical and water connections.
- Conduct decibel readings
- Clean and remove litter and garbage found on Dundas Place, overflowing litter bins, within the building and public washrooms.
- Ensure hallways and rooms are secure when not in use.
- Report vandalism incidents and/or safety/maintenance issues related to the operation of the facility.
- Ensure policies and procedures relative to the event are adhered to by participants.
- Collect and transport garbage from the street to the bulking stations.
- Empty garbage’s from any of the permanent bins/structures on the street to bulking station.
- Ensure the garbage is streamed properly (recyclables, compostable, garbage).
- Demonstrate commitment to anti-racism, anti-oppression, and human rights through practices and interactions with community partners, employees and individuals and support programs and initiatives that reflect this commitment.
- Demonstrate commitment and adherence to Health and Safety legislation and programs; actively promote a culture of safety.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 16 years of age.
- Standard First Aid (prior to the start of employment or the ability to obtain)
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check (VSPC) (Prior to the start of employment)
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to demonstrate good communication, high energy, and enthusiasm.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Able to work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- High level of comfort in fast paced public facing environments.

CSA rated Safety Books are required for this position.
