What will you do as a Software Developer at MCCG?
At MCCG being a software developer means just that…you will be developing software!  As a member of the development team you will have the opportunity to work closely with other talented members of our team to support, maintain and enhance a large/complex software system.  You will get to design, develop and test components of a multi-tiered solution.  You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks and develop your skills in many ways.

Requirements of the Software Developer:

• A Minimum of 3 years’ Experience developing with Java/J2EE and web based technologies;
• A Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent education and/or experience;
• A demonstrated familiarity with current software industry trends and technologies (particularly around Open Source options);
• Strong OO analysis and design skills;
• Proven diagnostic, analytical, problem solving skills, and attention to detail.

Preferred Knowledge of the Software Developer:

• TDD with jUnit experience
• Agile/XP experience
• Insurance business knowledge
• Sound knowledge of J2EE, and relational databases (current Oracle release preferred)
• Apache/Tomcat/JBoss
• Knowledge of  build and deployment tools (such as Ant)
• Knowledge of Spring framework
• Hibernate, EJB
• Struts or JSF
• MVC
• S/W development and Quality Assurance methodologies
