FSEAP is Canada’s largest non-profit provider of employee and family assistance programs (EAP).  We provide EAP services to over 1000 organizations nationwide through our FSEAP network.  Our EAP clinicians provide short-term, solution-focused counselling, case management and related services for EAP clients.  As part of the Family Service Canada, the proceeds go back to support crucial community social service programming across Canada – delivering on our promise (and mission) to strengthen individuals, couples and families creating healthy workplaces and strong communities.

FSEAP Thames Valley is currently recruiting experienced counsellors who would be interested in working flexible hours, including evenings, as an independent contractor.   In this role you will be contracted to provide EAP service in our offices, located at 125 Woodward Avenue, London, Ontario based on your time and availability.  In other words, you would control your schedule as well as determine the volume of clients you can take on. Whether you are looking to build or grow your own practice, looking for an additional source of income, looking for variety or an opportunity to work one-on-one with clients, this opportunity may be for you.  

We are looking for a professional that has proven counselling skills with adults, adolescents, children, couples and families.  As an independent contractor, you would provide assessments, referrals and short-term counselling.

Education and Experience Required: 
  •  Master’s degree or doctoral degree in a counselling, clinical psychology or social work or a related mental health profession.
  •  Membership in or registration with related professional association.
  •  Minimum of 5 years’ of counselling and clinical experience.
  •  Previous experience working in EAP counselling is considered an asset.
  • Ability to manage a diverse clinical caseload, superior intervention skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Certifications in Critical Incident Response, Critical Incident Stress Management, EMDR, or other areas of specialty including substance mis-use or addictions, marriage and family therapy or cognitive behavioural therapy, are encouraged.
  • Current Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
