Job Description

We require a Human Resources Assistant to support human resources administrative functions; including payroll, benefits, training and health and safety.  
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 
  • Co-ordinate hiring and orientation of new employees;
  • Enrol new employees for pay, benefits and attendance reporting;
  • Maintain employee attendance records and all personnel files;
  • Process bi-weekly payroll and associated reporting requirements;
  • Administer employee benefit programs;
  • Participate in and support the functions of the Joint Health and Safety Committee;
  • Co-ordinate and maintain records for employee training;
  • Complete WSIB reporting requirements for workplace injuries;
  • Maintain and administer inventories of employee uniforms and supplies;
  • Other administrative duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Post-secondary education in a human resources program, plus a minimum of 2 years experience in a in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Payroll experience preferably utilizing Ceridian Insync;
  • Understanding of employment and occupational health & safety legislation;
  • Joint Health & Safety Committee member certification;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and to maintain confidentiality;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
