Job Description

Armo Tool is a steadily growing manufacturer of Precision Tooling, Dies and Special Machines and has been in operation since 1969. We are currently looking for a:
 
Supervisor - Production (Afternoon Shift)


The afternoon Shift Supervisor – Oversees the operations and functions of all Departments on second shift, in order to achieve customer satisfaction while ensuring the company’s objectives are met.  These objectives include training and evaluation of department staff, quality, delivery and safety.

Skill/Effort Requirements
  • Strong leadership, mentoring and coaching skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a team focus, and the ability to work in cross functional teams and develop collaborative relationships
  • Effective decision making and problem solving skills with the ability to work under pressure/stress to meet tight timelines and schedules
  • Advanced knowledge in manufacturing processes.
  • Highly motivated and able to motivate others
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills as well as conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of metal processing, tools, steel properties
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
  • Knowledge of WHMIS
  • Requires a valid First-Aid/CPR Certificate


Responsibilities
  • Assigning, planning, monitoring and problem solving of production processes to meet efficiencies and utilization, department requirements and thru put
  • Ensure a quality product through problem solving and corrective action processes
  • Ensure customer delivery requirements, inventory levels, and budget guidelines are met
  • Provide job training and coaching
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures
  • Administer the Occupational Health and Safety Act as it pertains to supervisor responsibilities
  • Conduct monthly Health and Safety talks
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in the recruitment process
  • Make recommendations to improve productivity and reduce overall costs
  • Administer First Aid when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 Year College Diploma
Working Conditions:
  • Exposure to dirt and noise in a manufacturing environment
