Private household in London, ON (Hyde Park area) seeks In-Home Caregiver to supervise & provide care for senior citizen with medical needs.  Responsibilities include: Shop for food and household supplies; Provide personal care; Provide companionship; Prepare and serve nutritious meals; Plan therapeutic diets and menus; Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties; Launder clothing and household linens; Assume full responsibility for household (in absence of householder); Assist clients in water (i.e. pool); Assist in regular exercise, e.g., walk; Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene; Care for pets. 

Weight Handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs); Target Audience: Adults.
Security and Safety: Driver's validity licence check; Driving record check (abstract); Immunization records; Tuberculosis test; Criminal record check; Adult Abuse Registry; Reference required; Vulnerable sector check.
Work Site Environment: Non-smoking.
Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation; Willing to travel; Valid driver's licence; Travel expenses paid by employer; Public transportation is available.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Handling heavy loads; Sitting; Combination of sitting, standing, walking; bending, crouching, kneeling.
Work Location Information: Staff accommodation available (not mandatory); Urban area.

Must have a min. of post-secondary nurse aide or health care aid certificate or diploma, or related & min. 1 yr. of previous exp. as a nurse aid or caregiver.  CPR Certificate is preferred.  Farsi speaking an asset (client speaks Farsi only)

Permanent, Full time (40 hrs/wk) @ $18.00/hr. Valid driver’s license, police clearance (Vulnerable Screening) & reference checks required.
