Permanent CMHP Program Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:
The on-site Program Supervisor is responsible for oversight of the day-to-day operation of the Community Mental Health Programs, ensuring that excellent quality of care and services are being delivered to the clients of the programs, in compliance with all legislation, funding contracts, and provincial service standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Program Services
  • Ensure mental health programs and support services, assessments, and service planning align and adhere to professional and provincial standards.
  • Provide on-going monitoring to assure accuracy and relevant documentation, retrieval and report preparation for CDS/MIS & CTS in collaboration with the administrative staff.
  • In collaboration with administrative staff, prepare, analyze, and assist with service planning/client supports and program development.
  • Develop and participate in community and service provider networks relevant to the Program Goals and Objectives as identified appropriate.

Administration
  • Be a responsible Team Mentor, oversee and recommend opportunities to enhance services related to the Program Goals and Objectives.
  • Develop and monitor staff schedules to ensure coverage in accordance with agency policies.
  • Facilitate and participate in regular full team meetings, and sub-team meetings to review client files, programming goals, and other program related issues.
  • Complete, review, and submit reports, including all service statistics for the Director in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for payroll monitoring and input.

Supervision
  • Supervise and monitor staff performance, ensuring compliance to Mission Services of London’s Mission, Vision and Values.
  • Ensure staff practice in accordance with Community Mental Health Programs, procedures, competencies, standards, and other related documents, including health Policy and “Best Practice” models.
  • Coordinate the hiring, orientation and training of new staff, volunteers, and student placements.
  • In collaboration with the Director, review and supervise staff practice and conduct staff/student/volunteer performance reviews.
  • Provide ongoing coaching/mentoring to all staff, and discipline when deemed necessary and appropriate.
  • Assume “on-call” responsibility as part of ongoing rotations.
 

Skills and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work or related field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislations, provincial standards, psycho-social rehabilitation principles and understanding of the Mental Health Act.
  • Supervisor Training.
  • WHMIS, First Aid/CPR, CPI Training, and other relevant trainings.
  • Assist (Suicide Intervention) Training a definite asset.
  • Working knowledge of Office365.
  • Must be able to work on-site and drive to various MSL Branches and outside Agencies as needed.

Experience

  • Experience managing, supervising, or training others, while working with a diverse group of people with multiple and complex needs.
  • Demonstrated competency in understanding and practice of Psychosocial Rehabilitation Principles, Concurrent Disorders, Trauma-Informed Response, and Harm Reduction.
  • Knowledge and competency of client databases and information systems.
  • Strong communication (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledgeable and able to work cooperatively with a variety of service providers, community services and the public.
