Job Description

The London District Catholic School Board has a reputation for excellence, with more than 3,000 employees working together to educate approximately 22,000 students at 43 elementary schools, 9 secondary schools and St. Patrick Adult and Continuing Education within Middlesex, Oxford, and Elgin counties, including the cities of London, St. Thomas, Strathroy, and Woodstock.

Buyer (1 Year Contract - full time)

Association of Business Professionals (Non-Union Employee Group)
Salary Range $62,959 to $71,543 commensurate with experience
 
The Buyer is a key member of the purchasing team, reporting to the Supervisor of Purchasing. This position will be responsible for assisting with the wide-ranging procurement activities including processing requisitions, managing open purchase orders, bid document preparation and analysis in accordance with Board policies, procedures, and legal requirements necessary to maintain the supply of commodities and services.

Qualifications and Skills required:
 
  • Post-secondary diploma/certificate in supply chain management and/or an acceptable combination of education and work experience
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and experience with procurement systems, data, and analytics in the public sector is an asset
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills related to contracts, terms, and conditions
  • Generate reports and perform analysis on product selection, pricing and other related data as required.
  • General understanding of computerized purchasing environment
  • Proven computer experience using the Microsoft Office suite and related purchasing software
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in an organized manner, and collaboratively in a team-based environment
