The South America division started its operations past November 15^th and is managed from St. Thomas / London, ON by a Brazilian-Canadian resident, Fabiana Estrela. We also have an office in Lima/Peru.

The recruitment process involves:

• Posting on social media page and related groups;
• Searching for candidates on databases as LinkedIn and similar ones, from local territories (priority for Brazil and Peru, but open to any country from Mexico south);
• Stablishing partnerships with colleges/ schools / associations;
• Receiving resumes and replying to candidates in a professional manner – requesting them to create profile in database ensuring all documents are properly uploaded if not already done;
• Analyzing resumes and scheduling interviews;
• Conducting interviews: explaining about life at sea, requirements of the job, answering to questions and explaining all phases of hiring process;
• Stewarding relationships with quality candidates – answering to questions and keeping them up to date with any updates in the process, that can be very fast or take months for candidate to advance into hiring process and board;
• Once a job offer is made, assisting candidates and monitoring the next steps: personality test, English Marlins test, police background check, passport, Medical exams, shots, C1/D Visa and finally flight and hotel arrangements;
• Invoicing client once candidates have boarded;
• Keeping all resumes stored and organized in a professional manner, making easy to search candidates per skill sets, per position or per country of residence;
• Data-entry as needed to keep all profiles up to date;  

We are looking for a Human Resources student or recently graduated professional that has passion to provide quality services to candidates, that loves coaching and helping people get the job of their lives.
Often, we need to advise them on how to prepare a resume to maximize their chances of an interview with client, how to prepare for the position they want (if they don’t have yet the experience required) and helping them control the anxiety of a lengthy process.
 
The ideal candidate must possess:

• Great patience;
• Exceptional customer service and ethics; confidentiality of information handled is imperative;
• Great communication and organizational skills;
• Attention to detail;
• Self-learner and independent, while also working well in a team;
• Entrepreneurship spirit to hunt for candidates in hard to fill roles and to work with go-gather attitude;
• Great sense of creativity and initiative to find for other sources to promote the roles;
• Fluent English is a must – Spanish or Portuguese are assets;
• Prior recruitment experience is desirable, but not essential.
• Sensible to cultural diversity and dealing with candidates form multiple different backgrounds;
• Great if candidate has cruised before and can relate to some of the challenges and requirements of work onboard a vessel;

 
This is not a job offer with paid wages. We offer flexible hours and accept part-time commitment.
Compensation is offered on a per hire fee of $150 to $300, depending on position.
Potential for full-time employment in the next 6 months.
Hiring cycle is approximately 3 months but could be longer.
