ADECCO is currently recruiting to fill a Temporary to PERMANENT Accounting Assistant job opportunity in Ilderton, ON. As an Accounting Assistant, the successful candidate will be responsible for accounts payable and receivable with other administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will be able to multitask and adapt to change in duties and responsibilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
- Processing accounts payable transactions; issuing cheques and maintaining related records including posting, reconciling and balancing all disbursements.
- Receive, account for and safeguard cash or cheques; maintain petty cash fund; prepare bank deposits and maintain related records including posting, reconciling and balancing all receipts.
- Maintain account records by posting and reconciling data in computerized recordkeeping systems; verify data; follow up and resolve any and all issues, seeking direction where required.
- Reconcile accounts receivable and provide customers with accurate detailed information regarding their pre-authorized monthly, quarterly, etc. payments.
- Compile, calculate, enter and verify data to maintain regulatory statistical reporting requirements.
- Perform office duties such as photocopying, faxing, invoicing, filing, ordering of supplies, reception backup, etc.
- Maintain records, balance and invoice inventory sales.
- Provide support to other staff in various departments.
- Apply established procedures and guidelines to the keeping of accurate records and accounts.
- Perform all duties in an effective, accurate manner with attention to detail to meet deadlines.
- General administrative tasks
- A minimum of 5 years of Accounting experience
- Experience in Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Experience in the insurance industry would be an asset
- Strong computer and keyboarding skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Exceptional telephone and client service etiquette and grammar skills.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and independently perform work assignments with accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other employees and work in a team environment.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
