Job Description
SPORTS PARK ATTENDANT
Purpose of the role
-
To prepare the park for all events/bookings that will take place there
-
To ensure all users of the park are authorized/permitted
-
To oversee all events – provide information & services, as needed, to ensure a great experience for all guests
Responsibilities
Rental Readiness / Oversight
-
Unlock and lock park gates each shift
-
Prepare the park for each event – duties such as setting up tables & BBQs, removing all rubbish, cleaning the pavilion, cleaning & restocking washrooms

Oversee all events in the park – ensure users are permitted, enforce rules for safety and security of the premises

Complete incident reports, as needed

Groom ball diamonds with the utility vehicle and grater

Inspect soccer fields and baseball diamonds for safety hazards before each booking

Inspect pavilion and playground area to ensure equipment and grounds are safe for each booking

Groom walking trail and parking lot as needed
-
Cancel activities if conditions are unsafe. Evacuate the park as required for bad weather or other safety hazard
Regular Maintenance

Report any necessary repairs to the building and/or grounds
-
Report animal/pest control concerns as required
-
Inventory and replace first aid supplies as needed
-
Repair, paint or stain picnic tables and bleachers as needed
Working Hours
This is a part-time role, averaging 12-15 hours per week, depending on park bookings. The Sports Park Attendant will work on-site at the park (in East London), mostly outdoors. Working hours are almost exclusively on weekday evenings (6-9pm) and/or on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays, anytime between 8am-7pm). We are looking for candidates available to start immediately.

Safely and capably operate a motorized four-wheeler (all-terrain vehicle, ATV)
Other qualifications:

Any experience in event management, sports management, ir recreation & leisure would be considered an asset

Certified in First Aid/CPR training
-
A valid driver’s license and personal transportation
Compensation
This position pays $15.50/hour. Mileage and other business expenses will be reimbursed.
