Working within a residential Youth Justice Facility in London, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning and preparing meals to meet the nutritional needs of male youth between the ages of 12 – 17 in accordance with Canada’s Food Guide. Shifts include weekday afternoons and every other weekend for a total of 20 hours average per week.
Qualifications:
Starting Wage: $16.69 per hour plus 4% vacation pay & 2% in lieu of benefits
Work Location: Genest Detention Center for Youth (GDCY)

Qualifications:
- Meal preparation and cooking, completion of grocery orders and supply inventories
- Set a positive example for the youth
- Cleaning and security of kitchen/dining equipment and dining area
- Ongoing communication with food services team, facility managers and direct care employees
- Possess a working knowledge of food and health related legislation
- Candidates must provide a current Police Records Check and Vulnerable Position Screening
- Post-secondary education in a related field and Completion of Safe Food Handler Certification Program
- A minimum of 1 year experience with food preparation duties as the main focus, preferably within a residential care facility
