Job Description
Engineer – Manufacturing
Under general direction, plan and coordinate the execution of manufacturing process improvements in an industrial plant. May improve production methods and provide support in manufacturing operations such as machining, metal forming, welding and brazing, assembly, and material handling. May assist in time and cost estimates. May assign work to drafters and technicians, technical writers, engineering technicians, and machine shop personnel as required.

Key Accountabilities
· Specify new tools, equipment and fixtures where required.
· Investigate new manufacturing and tooling methods.
· Help in defining plant layout and ergonomic requirements.
· Change implementation champion.
· Manage standard costing modules.
· Assist in ensuring the process is capable through capability studies.
· Participate in corrective action to meet ongoing cost, quality and delivery, and participate in CAT activities.
· Perform other duties/projects as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
· A bachelor’s degree or technology diploma in mechanical or industrial engineering or equivalent work experience.

Desired Characteristics
· Minimum three to five years of related experience.
· Demonstrated understanding of LEAN, Theory of Constraints, 5S, Kaizen teams and plant level-loading.
· Active knowledge of AutoCad, Excel, Word, Easytalk and MasterCam and understanding of geometric tolerancing and dimensioning.
