BUYER / PLANNER

The Position: The Buyer/Planner is responsible for the timely and accurate replenishment of company inventory from assigned Suppliers that meets the customers' needs while minimizing the cost of inventory. By ensuring accuracy, this role contributes to the maintenance of a quality product, a satisfied customer, and positive relations with our Suppliers. This position will actively manage demand forecasts and ensure the timely purchase of ordered goods, or an appropriate substitute, in support of the Sales and Customer Service teams which also contribute to the company's growth and profit.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the daily activities of the procurement processes.
  • Ensure the system reflects accurate due dates as confirmed by suppliers.
  • Manage supplier backorders proactively.
  • Provide input into stocking decisions, stock locations, reorder points and safety stock levels.
  • Provide input into and maintain product line demand forecasts for both regular demand and special implementations.
  • Inform supplier of pending returns in a timely manner.
  • Provide recommendations regarding next steps when returns are not feasible.

Requirements, Qualifications & Skills:
  • University Degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Certification in Supply Chain Management is an asset.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a Logistics or Procurement environment.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience working directly with Materials/Inventory management.
  • Experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning Software (ERP).
  • Self-driven with excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Essential Duties:
  • Fluent in English both written and oral.
