The Opportunity:
On behalf of one of our valued clients in Tillsonburg we are currently hiring a Packager/Shipper. Our client is a leading supplier in the engineering and manufacturing of panels and other high quality products. They serve a diverse customer base including the medical furnishing industry, décor and design industry, as well as the aircraft manufacturing industry.
The Rewards:
• Opportunity for FULL-TIME HOURS: 7:00am-5:00am (Overtime)
• $13.50/hr
• Direct Deposit Paid Weekly
• Potential of getting hired on permanently after [480 hours/ 6 months]- **Contingent upon your overall job performance and the needs of the client.**
The Responsibilities:
• Inspect, package, ship, receive, and record the movement of parts, products, stock to and from an establishment.
• Perform general physical activities in order to load, sort and move shipments by hand or using material handling equipment;
• Examine shipments contents and compare with records, such as manifest, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of shipment;
• Examine and inspect shipments, materials and product to ensure that packing specifications have been met;
• Perform tasks in multi-temperature environments;
• Adhere to shipping policies/procedures, and regulatory compliance procedures;
• Maintain compliance with laws, regulations, and/or standards and complete appropriate documentation as required;
• Read and comprehend documents such as work orders, bills of lading, quality requirements, etc.;
• Complete daily shipping logs;
• Utilize power tools and various equipment as needed to perform duties;
• Record shipment data for reporting, accounting, and record keeping purposes;
• Confer and correspond with Production Supervisor and Quality Control to rectify problems such as damages, shortages, and non-conformance to specifications;
• Assist with ordering and store shipping supplies to maintain stock inventory;
• Compute amounts, such as space available, and shipping, storage and demurrage charges;
• Provide on the job training to new/junior staff
• All other duties as assigned
The Selection Criteria:
• CURRENT/VALID AND TRANSFERABLE FORKLIFT LICENSE REQUIRED.
• Require a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have strong math and analytical skills.
• Previous experience in similar position necessary
• May be required to stand for long periods of time
• May involve some repetitive motions
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• May also engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and products
• Must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include heat, humidity and cold
• Must have Knowledge of health and safety procedures, standards and regulations, public safety and security etc.
• Must have good math skills, proficient in English-written and spoken, oral expression and comprehension, problem sensitivity, written comprehension, information ordering, speech clarity and recognition, category flexibility, deductive reasoning, strength, multi-limb coordination, near vision, control precision, manual dexterity and arm-hand steadiness.
• Attention to detail, dependability, cooperation, stress tolerance, concern for others, adaptability/flexibility, initiative, creative problem solver, independence and social orientation.
