Job Description

We are currently accepting applications for a:

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Facilitator

Temporary Contract Position - July 12, 2021 to June 24, 2022

Full time 35 hours per week
Salary range:  $48,223 to $66,836

Working as a member of the Special Education System Support Team, and reporting to the Mental Health Lead, the Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Facilitator will support the development and implementation of social emotional learning and mentally healthy classrooms in both elementary and secondary schools, and both in-person as well as virtual schools at LDCSB.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • College level diploma or undergraduate degree in social work (BSW), or social service work (SSW) required.
  • Understanding of trauma informed practices to support resilience of children and youth.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of social-emotional learning resources and programming with children and youth required.
  • Understanding of the fundamental aspects of mentally healthy classrooms.
  • Familiarity with the MindUP SEL Program, and MEHRIT Centre Self-Reg Concepts.
  • Ability to be self-directed and work in both in-school and virtual learning environments.
  • Proven ability to provide professional development, coaching and consultation on the delivery of social emotional learning programming.
  • Ability to establish effective interpersonal relationships, work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and possess excellent communication skills.
  • Possess an understanding and willingness to support an inclusive Catholic education environment.
  • Reliable transportation is required to travel within the LDCSB District.
