The Payroll and Benefits Administrator at Phoenix provides support to all Phoenix employees.

Responsibilities:
  • Payroll administration for all employees and locations, including pay schedules, payroll deductions, setting up employees, changes/queries, and removal of employees
  • Facilitate new employee orientation regarding payroll and benefits (when eligible)
  • Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies and inconsistencies in policies
  • Respond to employees’ payroll and/or benefit questions and concerns
  • Communicate with external providers, such as ADP & Great West Life
  • T4 Administration
  • Group RSPs Administration
  • EEAP Program Queries
  • Benefits Administration, including set up of new hires, terminations, medical and dental claims, short-term and long-term disability, out of Province insurance coverage
 
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in accounting, or other related field or equivalent work experience
  • 2-5 years of Payroll and Benefits Administration experience
  • Experience with ADP is required
  • PCP designation an asset, but not required
  • Strong understanding of Employee Payroll, Pay Schedules, Payroll Deductions process, legal requirements, standards
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Exceptional multi-tasking, attention to detail, and organization skills
  • Ability to problem-solve and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to adapt and be flexible in a changing environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work independently with limited supervision
  • Hardworking, self-motivated, and passionate about learning and working with the latest technologies
