What's an Accounting Assistant?

Reporting to the Financial Analyst, the Accounting Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Accounting department at Goodwill.

What’s the role?

  • Complete Accounts Payable coding, entering, and disbursements
  • Complete Accounts Receivable invoicing and follow-up
  • Balance Online Sales account on a monthly basis
  • Act as backup for Payroll completion
  • Oversee and maintain database of capital assets
  • Analyze purchasing expenditures
  • Assist with internal audits and control testing
  • Analyze and report on accounts
  • Perform other clerical duties as required

Do you fit the part?

  • Do you have 1 – 2 years of practical accounting experience?
  • Are you knowledgeable about general accounting principles?
  • Do you have experience with Sage AccPac software? This would be an asset.
  • Do you have above average computer skills, with experience using the Microsoft Office suite of software (especially Excel)?
  • Are you proud of your interpersonal skills?
  • Do you have organizational skills?
  • Are you able to work and solve problems independently?
  • Are you familiar with health and safety legislation in the workplace?
