Cargill Value Added Meats – Food Service operates a chicken processing plant in London, ON, a hatchery in Jarvis, ON, and ground beef processing facilities in Brampton, ON, and Spruce Grove, AB employing approximately 1200 employees.
 
As the Millwright reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor on this night shift position, you are an integral member of the plant maintenance team responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing mechanical equipment in a safe and cost effective manner and participate fully in the plant safety and food safety programs.
 
Principal Accountabilities:
 
50% - Perform scheduled and reactive corrective maintenance on plant assets, preventative and predictive maintenance and installation of new equipment on plant assets as assigned.
 
25% - Act as an emergency responder to perform repairs as required.
 
15% - Participate in meetings, training activities, and in plant safety and food safety programs.
 
10% - Other projects and activities as assigned
 
 
Qualifications:
 
Required:
 
 
  • Possession of Certified Millwright Journeyman Ticket
  • Minimum of two years working experience within an industrial maintenance environment
  • Basic knowledge of industrial safety, food safety and environmental regulations
  • Strong problem solving skills, good written and verbal communication skills. Computer literate
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to be part of a high performing team
  • Must be able to work the night shift.
  • Ability to work in temperature controlled environments, various work conditions ( noise, odours, dust) and around live animals
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on a non-temporary basis
 
 Preferred:
 
  • Experience in the poultry processing or food processing industry
  • Knowledge of  Maintenance Reliability and Predictive Technologies
