Prime Management Group Inc. is pleased to be partnering with a highly respected faith-based organization in the London area in the confidential recruitment effort of a Director of Human Resources. The Director of Human Resources will play a crucial role in developing and implementing the human resource strategy in alignment with the organization’s goals, purposes, and priorities. This influential and proven leader will work with the Human Resources team to provide support, advice, and direction to the administrative leadership team on all human resource matters, while overseeing the support staff responsible for benefits and employee development.

As a vital member of the Senior Leadership team, the Director of Human Resources will coach/counsel employees and management on all applicable best practices, policies and employment laws relevant to employee relations; including orientation, training and onboarding for all new employees. The Director of Human Resources will assure compliance with the organization’s volunteer program, pertinent government legislation, and all current and new applicable legislation across the organization, in consultation with legal counsel when necessary.
 

This engaging and strategic HR leader will lead all employment processes regarding hiring and termination of personnel and participate in union negotiations with five collective bargaining units. The Director of Human Resources will maintain a salary administration and performance management process/system for all employees, and oversee the maintenance of the current Human Resources Information System (HRIS). The successful candidate will administer the organization’s pension and benefits and oversee the department’s operational budget. This position will also liaise with outside agencies, such as the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, Services Canada and Employment Standards, and assists in the ongoing management of various pension plans.

 

To qualify for this exciting opportunity, the successful candidate must have a relevant post-secondary degree and Human Resources certification, coupled with 5-7 years experience in a progressively more senior level Human Resources management role, ideally in the Not-for-Profit or Public sectors. This highly collaborative and integrity-based professional will have exceptional experience leading an HR function within a unionized environment, and a proven ability to build highly effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Experience working in a faith-based environment would be considered highly desirable.
