Job Description

  • Provides oversight for the processes which drive Comprehensive Continuous and Business improvement.
  • Works close with teams to drive improvement activities through the development of people and processes in a manner consistent with our HPO system.
  • Develops and measures standard metrics, maps the flow (including inputs and outputs) of business processes, identifies opportunities for improvement, develops project plans for implementing improvements and monitors the new process to ensure it works as intended.
  • Prepares and presents reports
  • Accountable for tracking CI/CCI project progress relative to savings targets and report results to senior management on a monthly basis.
  • Maintains employee suggestion program, update the CI Information Board and communicates Lean Six Sigma principles and tools to all Operations employees.
  • Plans coordinates, and may deliver training to develop process improvement skills at all levels within the plant.
  • Manages CI team
  • Provide leadership and coaching to teams
  • Actively seek out opportunities to reapply improvements across the plant or between plants and to reapply best practices (internal/external) within the facility.
  • Works with US counterparts to ensure program consistency and sharing of project opportunities.

Qualifications required:
  • University Engineering Degree with P. Eng. certification is preferred
  • Certified Black Belt is preferred
  • 7+ years ‘experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3-5 years’ experience analyzing processes, managing projects, and technical manufacturing design
  • 1-3 years’ management experience is an asset
  • Demonstrated statistical ability
  • Creative thinker, good facilitator, strong leadership, project management and communication skills
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing KPI’s – Process Reliability, Material Loss, TIR, cost per unit, capital program, cost centres.
  • In depth understanding of specific work unit; knowledge of the functional area and how external factors impact the work unit.
  • Strong problem solving skills.  Must be able to think outside the box and be innovative.
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to lead others in problem-solving and building capability of teams
