Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll Administrator to manage and oversee the agency's payroll processes. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintain compliance with relevant regulations, support human resources functions related to employee compensation and supporting finance functions related to Accounts Payable/Receivable. Proficiency with the payroll software Dayforce and accounting software Quickbooks Online is essential to succeed in this role. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to efficient payroll operations within a growing agency.


Responsibilities
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for over 250 employees accurately and efficiently using the Dayforce payroll software while abiding by legislation, policies and procedures and the collective agreement.
  • Enter and verify data related to hours worked, overtime, bonuses, deductions, taxable benefits, etc.
  • Reconcile accounts related to payroll transactions and ensure data integrity across various platforms.
  • Assist in accounts payable and receivable duties for the organization using Quickbooks Online.
  • Ensure remittance of union dues, remittances, etc. are accurate and on time.
  • Prepare reports on payroll data for management review and audit purposes.
  • Assist with year-end reporting and tax filings.
  • Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure proper account reconciliation and bookkeeping practices.
  • Professionally communicate and proactive recommendations for process improvements.
  • Participate in other duties as requested by the Finance Manager and Directors.
     
Qualifications
  • Proven experience and expertise working with the payroll system Dayforce.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and experience with accounting software like QuickBooks online or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with payroll processing procedures, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; strong analysis skills for reporting and troubleshooting discrepancies.
  • Experience managing accounts payable/receivable processes.
  • Ability to perform account reconciliation and bookkeeping tasks efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially. This role is integral to maintaining smooth payroll operations within the organization by ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of employee compensation data.
  • National Payroll Institute designation of Payroll Compliance Profession (PCP) or Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) is an asset.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Ability to speak French is an asset.

Pay $63,000-$76,576.90
