Our business relies on the important role played by professional truck drivers. They are the most crucial and important asset for our success. Currently we are looking for 2 Truck Drivers as soon as possible.

Job Title: Truck Driver

Job Location: Brampton, ON (Driving across Canada)
Position type: Full time, Permanent
Number of positions: 2
Compensation: $27.50 per hour
Overtime: $41.25 per hour after 44 hours per week
Vacation: 10 paid days or vacation pay 4% of gross pay,
Job Protected Unpaid Leave: 10 days for personal emergencies such as illness, injury and certain other emergencies and urgent matters.
MELT Training cost: Company advance available payable in easy instalments

Minimum qualifications for this position must meet the following criteria:
- Education - High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid driver’s license with AZ and acceptable driver's record
- Good oral and written communication skills in English
- Ability to troubleshoot and make minor repairs to equipment and vehicle at job sites
- Knowledge of main highways of Ontario and geographical knowledge of other provinces
- Ability to drive long hours and long distances
- Know how to operate GPS and electronic logbook
- Knowledge of truck driving rules and regulations
- A positive and friendly attitude
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate and drive tractor-trailer to transport goods and materials
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure fleet standards are met
- Record driving and freight information, hours of service, distance travelled on electronic logbook. Record fuel consumption
- Follow the guidelines for food load distribution, food handling and safety
- Receive and relay information to the dispatch of the company
- On time deliveries and pick-ups
- Ensure load is always secure
- Report all or any discrepancies and delivery delays
- Perform fleet preventative maintenance
- Submit daily paperwork to the head office
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude
