Facilities Management is responsible for the planning, development, engineering, construction, operation, maintenance and stewardship of all the buildings, infrastructure, sites and services within Western's campus community.

The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for carrying out a broad range of human resources functions, and will ensure highly efficient, client-focused and responsive services are delivered within Facilities Management. This role is a first point of contact and is accountable for resolving issues and responding to inquiries.
 
Qualifications
Education:
-   Undergraduate degree in related field (preferably Human Resources or Labour Relations)
-   Human Resource professional designation (completed or working towards) is preferred

Experience:
-   2 years' experience working in an HR environment
-   Experience working in a unionized environment is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-   Familiarity with Human Resources principles and practices and knowledge of general office procedures
-   Knowledge of Western collective agreements, employment practices and University policies and procedures is preferred
-   Familiarity with relevant HR legislation
-   Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
-   Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence dealing with all levels of an organization
-   Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to complete detailed role descriptions
-   Ability to work in a manner that models best practices in confidentiality standards
-   High degree of professionalism with outstanding ability to work effectively and efficiently
-   Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines
-   Ability to apply critical thinking to evaluate information and make appropriate decisions or recommendations
-   Creative problem-solving skills and sound professional judgment, especially regarding confidential/sensitive matters
-   Ability to employ a systematic and efficient approach to work
-   Strong customer service skills to handle enquiries and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner
-  Strong attention to detail and proofreading ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
-   A strong record of teamwork with the motivation and ability to work independently with little supervision
-   Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of the team to achieve departmental goals
-   Ability to adapt readily and effectively to changing priorities and demands
