Job Description

McKenzie Lake Lawyers LLP is seeking candidates to be our next professional receptionist and to continue to demonstrate excellent service to our prestigious clients.  You will be working in a bright and spacious reception area with a fantastic view of the City of London.  Dedicated mentoring and coaching will be provided to the chosen candidate to ensure a successful transition.

The receptionist will operate the reception area from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

Your primary responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
  • Greet and direct clients and visitors to the firm in a timely, professional, efficient and courteous manner
  • Be knowledgeable about firm, employees, clients etc. in order to serve as general information center
  • Monitor and listen to clients on the phone and face to face, to understand inquiries and requests in order to provide accurate information about services or redirect to the appropriate person
  • Assist with the handling and coordination of conference room reservations by monitoring schedule of events/appointments
  • Offer hospitality services to our guests
  • Maintain the appearance of the reception area and conference rooms
  • Perform a variety of administrative support functions
  • Open and close reception area and services each day
  • Assist staff with projects (data entry, mailings, reports etc.)
Requirements
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with a broad range of people in a professional manner
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
Qualifications
  • Must be reliable, punctual and able to work with minimal supervision
  • 1-2 years of secretarial or administrative support experience in a professional services environment
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and use independent judgment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel and knowledge of office telephone and voicemail systems
  • Excellent verbal and written (including excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation and proofreading) communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, visitors, lawyers and staff
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to follow complex instructions and take on new tasks, while thriving in a high volume environment
  • Conscientious worker with ability to plan, organize and execute
  • Ability to work with highly confidential subject matters
  • Skilled at working in a fast-paced environment while continuing to pay attention to details
