- 1 - 3 years of experience in a similar position
- Manufacturing experience is an asset
- Primarily performing lab testing (metallurgy testing)
- Unionized environment
- $23.63/hour + Shift Premium
- Straight shifts (Afternoons 3pm - 11pm or Midnights 11pm - 7am)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform repetitive operational or final bench inspections and tests on a variety of parts and products.
- Must follow standardized methods using direct reading and adjustable gauges, test sets, checking fixtures, and precision measuring instruments, surface table.
- Perform diversified first piece sampling final bench or floor inspection of parts and processes on moderately complex equipment, assemblies and products for conformance to drawings, specifications or other inspection data.
- Prepare necessary documents for IATF 16949.
- Deals with quality issues regarding incoming supplier parts.
- Supervises return of parts rejected by suppliers(s).
- Participate in supplier PPAP’s (production parts approval process).
- Provides ongoing instruction to production personnel on gauging and inspection procedures.
- Responsible for informing Supervisors of defects.
- A self-motivated individual who takes the initiative to deal with quality procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by your manager
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-3 years of experience in a similar position
- Automotive experience is an asset
- Must be self-motivated and take the initiative to deal with quality procedures.
- Experience in Resistance Spot Welding and Weld Integrity Inspection preferred.
- Ability to understand and interpret simple drawing prints such as process inspection instruction check sheets.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and possess the ability to work with management, peers, and plant Associates.
- Microsoft Excel, Word, PPTX skills required
EQUIPMENT AND/OR PRODUCT:
- Faro CMM arm, Micrometers, Attribute Check fixtures, microscope, tensing tester, verniers.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Varies between Plant floor, lab and offices.
QUALITY & CUSTOMER SATISFACTION:
- Responsible to adhere to all IATF 16946 / Quality policies and procedures
- Understand that Quality is EVERYONES responsibility
- Prevent quality issues from happening either by not starting the process or by stopping it before a nonconformity has occurred.
- Escalate Quality Issues immediately to my Supervisor or Manager – STOP, CONTAIN & REPORT
- Attend all Quality training deemed required by Sodecia
SAFETY AND HOUSEKEEPING:
- Responsible to adhere to all Health and Safety programs in accordance with the OHSA.
- Responsible to adhere to all Environmental Program ISO 14001 elements and attend training for same. Act in accordance to all Environmental policies, procedures and regulations.
- Responsible to report hazards immediately to my Supervisor or Manager.
- Follow and ensure the Company’s procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed throughout the plant.
- Ensure that you work and operate equipment according to the safety rules and regulations.
- Ensure that your Department is clean, tidy, organized and a safe workplace at all times following all 5S program elements.
