Job Description

Our growing London client, a successful manufacturer, is recruiting for a Sr. Quality Engineer due to an internal promotion.  A summary of responsibilities is listed below:

 

Responsibilities of the job:

 

  • Help maintain and improve the ISO Quality Management System.
  • Co-ordinate all registration and re-registration activities.
  • Create and review technical documentation, including work instructions, MIRs, inspection sheets, quality forms and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Create and maintain accurate inspection records, reports and quality documentation.
  • Define and implement Layered Process Audits.
  • Develop, perform, review and report quality audits to achieve and maintain metrics.
  • Develop internal KPIs for In-Process Inspections and Audit Scoring/Results.
  • Customer contact for any quality concerns, inquiries, and / or audits.
  • Respond to and process customer inquiries and complaints as they relate to quality in a timely and professional manner for the division and direct requests and feedback accordingly.
  • Develop, recommend and monitor corrective and preventive actions.
  • Review customer returns, determine root cause, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Review and communicate non-conformance issues with a view to promoting and advocating quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization.
  • Promote Quality with all employees in the organization, understanding prevention is a priority over detection.
  • Assist, coach and mentor Quality assurance technicians on techniques and customer requirements to ensure all customer requirements for quality are met.
  • Participate in FPI process to consolidate and validate package in a timely manner.
     

Job Requirements:

 

  • Post-Secondary Diploma (College or University) –Technical discipline preferred.
  • Knowledge of Quality methodologies e.g.:  Six Sigma techniques, Lean Manufacturing, PFMEA, etc.
  • Detail oriented and analytical thinker.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to learn ERP Software packages.
  • Able to work in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment demonstrating excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Professional personal demeanor and presentation.
  • Demonstrate initiative, reliability and positive team attitude.
  • Ability to instruct and train people.
  • CMM and CAD experience is a definite asset (hands-on ability).
  • Metrology and GD & T Experience is necessary.
