Tool and Die Maker
On behalf of my client near London I am recruiting for a Tool and Die Maker, my client is a global Automotive Manufacturer providing parts into the US and Canada. Reporting to the tool room supervisor the successful candidate would be a self-starter that can work well with minimal supervision in a Stamping and Welding Environment.
Hourly: $34.77-$35.86 + OT after 40 hours
Shift: Afternoons / Days / Nights / 40 Hour Weekend 12 HR Shifts

Tool Maker Responsibilities:
  • Construct/repair/maintain tool/gauges/fixtures/jigs/dies
  • Continuous improvement to work towards eliminating run interruptions/downtime due to tooling capability
  • Work to accomplish die maintenance, rebuilding or other machining as per tool room schedule
  • Assist Project Engineers where needed on tool builds or equipment launches
  • Identify areas of tooling fatigue or possible future problems
  • Suggest improvement methods or practices to increase tool life, serviceability or efficiency
  • Record tooling services using ARDPRR sheets or supplementary service records
Tool Maker Requirements:
  • Tool & Die Certificate of Qualification is required
  • 3+ Years’ experience in building or maintaining dies is an asset
  • Experience with basic process including: hand, bench and power too, jigs and fixtures and precision measuring equipment, ID / OD grinder, milling machine, lathe, arm drill, computer, welder, and how to assemble Cast/Trim dies.
  • Experience with vertical and horizontal milling machines, including set-up and operation, speeds, and feeds, coolants, work piece holding, mounting, milling keywords, angles, slots etc.
  • Understanding of the working horizontal, vertical universal and milling machines, including set-up and operation, speeds and feeds, coolants, work piece holding, mounting, milling operations, keyways, angles, slots etc.
  • Proficiency in blue print reading and GDT
  • Own Tools are required
