Project Coordinator, Apprenticeship Implementation Project – Job Posting

 
Job Summary
The person in this position is responsible for the creation of local implementation plans to support apprenticeship opportunities across the six Counties of Brant, Elgin Haldimand, Middlesex Norfolk and Oxford. The position will act as the staff lead on primary research collected from a variety of stakeholders engaged in apprenticeship. This research along will form the basis of a series of Apprenticeship Implementation Plans for trade(s) within the Motive Power and Industrial streams of apprenticeship.  This is a full-time contract position for 35 hours per week to March 31, 2015. 

Primary Relationships
The position reports to the Executive Director of the (EMO) Workforce Planning and Development Board and serves as the staff lead on the project. This position will be asked to coordinate and participate at meetings with the Steering Committee, partnering organizations, and external organizations across the six counties area.
Within the WPDB, the position has primary working relationships with the Executive Director, regular staff and additional staff or consultants hired in support of the Apprenticeship Implementation Plan Project.
Within the Grand Erie region, the primary working relationship will be with the Executive Director of the Workforce Planning Board of Grand Erie.

Principle Accountabilities
The Project Coordinator is responsible to ensure that the goals of the project are achieved and that a series of Apprenticeship Implementation Plans are developed in consultation with the stakeholders in apprenticeship in the Motive Power and Industrial trades.

Qualifications
  • Post secondary degree in a related field
  • Experience working with labour market information
  • Presentation skills and public speaking experience
  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience in working with and facilitating participation of the private sector
  • Computer literacy in word processing, and database management including advanced Excel skills
  • Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to manage multiple activities at a time
  • Valid driver’s license and clean abstract and dependable vehicle with current insurance
 
Position Details:
  • 35 hours/week position for 31 weeks between August 25, 2014 and March 27, 2015
  • Travel expenses incurred for authorized work purposes will be reimbursed
