Full Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a Safety Advisor. This is an in-person role, you must be willing to work in Sarnia Lambton.
Duties include:

Develop coaching relationships with the project leadership team focused on helping them define and achieve their safety culture and continuously improve their safety performance.

Lead by demonstrating the required behaviours, attitudes and mindset to further develop an already strong safety culture.

Facilitate and participate in developing and implementing project/department Health and Safety plans, goals and objectives.

Participate in the development of Health and Safety performance measures, understand the relative value, interpret results
-
Provide preparation assistance and feedback for leaders of safety meetings with employees.

Provide training, orientation and personal coaching to site staff.
-
Coordinate and participate in the analysis, design, development, delivery and evaluation of safety-related training, as required.

Provide support to project/department management and staff in interpreting and applying rules, regulations and legislation.

Facilitate the implementation and administration of Health and Safety policies, processes and systems and monitor compliance with all relevant legislation, rules and regulations.

Provide consultation and assist in risk identification assessment, hazard analysis and job planning.

Develop job aids and methods to assist site personnel in these tasks.

Review, and provide coaching and support as required in incident investigation.

Support as required for the return-to-work program as identified by the Health and Safety Manager.

Monitor site conditions and behaviours to identify risks and provide site leaders with input and recommendations to enhance safety performance.

Conduct safety audits, coordinate audit recommendations, and assist in the development of corrective action plans in consultation with project/department management.
Qualifications:
-
Certificate, diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety.

Accreditation as an OH&S professional (i.e., CRSP)

Minimum three (3) years of experience.

Working knowledge of OH&S policies, standards, legislation and procedures pertaining to the industry.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
-
Excellent interpersonal skills including oral, verbal, and written communication skills.

Ability to take initiative, and lead and motivate people.
-
Ability to cooperate and deal tactfully with others.
-
Must have knowledge of MS Office.
-
Have general knowledge and the ability to learn and use additional job-specific application software, Industrial hygiene or atmospheric monitoring equipment as required.
