Position Title Children's Services Analyst

Summary of Duties Reports to and carries out work under the direction of the Manager l, Children's Services providing knowledge, research and writing expertise, project management and problem solving skills, advice to both internal and external customers and representing the department on various committees.
Work Performed
  • Plans, designs and conducts research/data analysis for Children's Services and its related special projects; including measurement and evaluation frameworks;
  • Prepares documentation, Community and Protective Services Committee reports, presentations, workplans or other related material to support Children's Services projects;
  • Analyzes and advises on the impact of proposed or new legislative/policy changes affecting Children's Services;
  • Assists with operational aspects of various special projects within Children's Services which may coordinate with other Divisions and Departments within the Corporation;
  • Represents the Children's Services Department on a number of local committees and subcommittees, providing input and actively contributing to reach goals;
  • Develops and recommends ideas for short and long term work plans and service objectives; in performing this work, deals with a variety of external and internal stakeholders, including, but not limited to, the Public, government agencies, neighbourhood and various interest groups, consultants hired by the City of London etc.;
  • Plans, designs and conducts educational and training sessions to internal and external stakeholders;
  • Develops resource materials to facilitate the work of different subcommittees (websites, resource binders, step by step approach and manuals).
  • Act as a resource and provides support and expert advice to internal and external groups and individuals; and
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Masters in Social Sciences or equivalent for which a significant amount of research, analysis and writing is required.
Training/expertise in program measurement and evaluation.
Diversity and ethnic relations education, knowledge or expertise.
Experience Two to three years related experience.
Specialized Training and Licenses Skills and abilities in the following areas are necessary:
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and website maintenance.
Ability to train adult audiences and play a leadership role.
Excellent facilitation, verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced project management skills.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Valid Drivels Licence - Class G, with access to a vehicle.
Compensation Range $46,421-$ 66,668
Other Information Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8:30 am- 4:30 pm
