The ideal candidate should possess a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of success within the automation industry.
Responsibilities:
- Production Management: Oversee and manage the entire production process for custom industrial automation control panels from inception to final delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion of projects while meeting established quality standards.
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor production teams, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages productivity, accountability, innovation, and skill development.
- Resource Planning: Develop and implement production schedules, resource allocation, and capacity planning to meet client requirements and optimize production efficiency.
- Quality Assurance: Work with the Quality team to maintain strict quality control measures throughout the production process, ensuring that all control panels meet industry standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements and lean manufacturing initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and increase overall productivity.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Project Management and Quality to ensure seamless communication and coordination of production-related activities.
- Supply Chain Management: Work closely with the Procurement team to ensure the availability of necessary materials and components required for production, maintaining an optimal inventory level.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the production facility. Ensure employee training and records are maintained and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Human Resources: Conduct regular performance interviews, manage vacation/time off schedules, handle employee discipline and report larger issues to upper management.
- Budget Management: Monitor production costs and expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure that production remains within the allocated budget.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate production records, prepare regular production reports, and present updates to senior management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or College diploma in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a production management or similar role, preferably in the manufacturing or industrial automation industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial automation, electrical systems, and control panel design.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing and motivating cross-functional production teams.
- Proven project management skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in fast-paced environments.
- In-depth understanding of lean manufacturing principles and process improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards in the industrial automation industry.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and clients.
- Proficiency in using production management software and tools.
