Job Description
My client, a small and rapidly growing company who specializes in innovative and precision crafted metal parts and specialty equipment for major OEM’s in North America and located in St. Thomas, ON is looking to add a Finance and Adminstration Lead to their management team.
Main Responsibilities:

- Supervise office support staff, establish work priorities, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Directly accountable for the following functions and duties; Billing, A/R, A/P, payroll, Reconcile bank accounts (CND &US), post journal entries, trial balances, Financial reporting. Human Resources – Employee and training records, Attendance and vacation scheduling, benefits program
- Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals
- Champion and drive continuous Improvement Projects – related to Procurement, Human Resources and Accounting
- Review and clearing of open receiving reports
- Reconciliation of all bank accounts on a daily basis
- Work to ensure financial results follow generally accepted accounting principles and proper internal controls are in place
- Collection of accounts receivable – recommending credit status and updates as required
- Preparation of Month End Financial statements
- Complete Month end reporting procedures – i.e. run inventory reports, update usage, open and close financial periods.
- Review of general ledgers
- Work to ensure financial results follow generally accepted accounting principles and proper internal controls are in place
- Post-Secondary in Accounting – Accounting designation required or in progress
- A Strong understanding of process flows within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with QuickBooks and ERP systems (Shoptech)
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven ability in taking initiative in making improvements and managing multiple projects.
- Demonstrate initiative, strong decision and problem solving skills.
- A positive team attitude with a leadership ability who has a desire to grow with the company.
